I had done some basic genealogy on him, and the middle name had struck me as odd before, but I never really thought about why he would have that name in the first place. I decided to present the life of my grandmother, Maria Starcz (also spelled Startz). She was handed many tragedies in her life, especially early when her father, brother and sister all died in a short period of time.
